Our Charities
Prostate Cancer UK
Prostate Cancer UK’s top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. We’re investing millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early, and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives. The Prostate Cancer Charity was founded in 1996 by Professor Jonathan Waxman to address the ‘Outrageous and arbitrary surgical treatment of men’.
We were the first national organisation for prostate cancer in the UK. Our aim was to improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research, and raise public and political awareness of a long-neglected disease.
MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT
The East Surrey Macmillan Cancer Support Centre is at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill. The centre enables people affected by cancer, their families, friends and carers to access a wide range of information and support services in one place.
The centre was designed by experts and people affected by cancer. It provides holistic care and support in the heart of the community in a calm, non-clinical environment.
A range of services is available including:
- information and advice on coping with cancer and its treatment
- counselling services
- financial advice and support
- complementary therapies including reflexology and reiki
- cancer support groups
- exercise programmes
- a range of classes to support people with cancer, during and beyond treatment.
If you want to register with us, you can still do that, just give us a call and we’ll go through the form or you can request a form to be emailed to you by contacting us at informationcentre.
